Well…I’m back at work and it’s busier than usual, so I’m trying to get as much blog posting done as I can in between work, sleep and work.

Video Game Expressions

NYC based photographer and video artist Robbie Cooper has created some facinating images by filming kids from the US and UK as they play (sometimes violent) video games.
Head on over to his site by clicking the link above and then click “SIMULATIONS”, “IMMERSION” and then scroll through the photos on the bottom right.

I find it interesting that some of the different facial expressions verge on down right creepy dependant on the video game they’re playing, i.e., FIFA Soccer vs. Grand Theft Auto 4.

Seattle, Washington resident Tyson Anthony Roberts sent me some examples of his “moving landscapes” and I wanted give a little shout out for his great work.

He says of his art…
“Landscape painting provides an array of environments and familiar imagery to work with as a starting point. From here, elements of abstract expressionism, color field painting and spontaneity are merged to form rural and urban scenes that appear to be in constant transition, taking the viewer from what was to what may be. It is through this idea of continual movement by which my work suggests that the places we know are always changing whether we are ready or not.“

Check out the great detail in these 26 alphabet dream houses created by draftsman Scott Teplin.

“Explore in each a bizarre, miniaturized constellation of bed rooms, drawing rooms, fantasy swimming pools, mysterious laboratories, personal ice cream parlors, gambling halls, nuclear reactors, and oozing phenomena of unknown consequence.”

Wow…it’s been a while eh?
I have been working a lot at painting and doing other art projects that seem to have stolen my time away from the ol’ blog.

Hey All!

I know it’s merely Tuesday, but it seems this week is going by fairly quickly for me. I’m working on some projects for Christmas and a charity project for a friend and it’s been taking up a lot of time so I apoloize for my lack of posting.

Artist Christopher Monroe DeLorenzo has created a really cool sticker set for your keyboard.

“We used to learn our alphabets by reading those classroom banners that associated each letter with an animal or object. These days as kids become increasingly computer dependent at an early age I thought it was about time to adapt an old method to a new medium.

From cultural icons to greek mythology, this keyboard sticker set will advance the alphabetical knowledge of any child, or adult.”

Germans In The Woods

In honour of Veterans Day, I thought it appropriate to post this powerful animated short by Rauch Brothers Animation Germans in the Woods about 86-year-old World War II veteran Joseph Robertson who fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Over 60 years later, he still cant forget one soldier he killed there.
It was created using a recorded memory by Joseph Robertson with his son-in-law from July of 05′.
